About de Jonge Watch Company

de Jonge Watch Company was founded by myself, Mark de Jonge, in 2017 after more than two years designing and prototyping watches in the moments I found between training and competing as a world-class sprint kayaker. I am an Olympic medalist and two-time world champion in my sport as well as a civil engineering graduate, product designer, husband, and father. 

As an athlete, I work day in and day out to achieve a sense of mastery and quality in what I do. I am driven by the fleeting moments of perfection in a race that are the culmination of countless hours of preparation and hard work. Quality moments like these are what drive me in sport, business and life, and keep me striving for more. These are the moments I continue to prepare for in the lead up to the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo and in my life beyond sport.

The de Jonge Watch brand captures the essence of those perfect moments – performance, attention to detail and the drive to constantly improve and make the most out of every second. I take my time with each watch, from design and development to assembly and testing, to create limited edition quality timepieces that I'm proud to share with the world. I hope that my watches will serve as a reminder to experience your own quality moments and enjoy the passage of time.
